The Locavore Farm Project: Restoring Lives, Land, and Hope

From the beginning in 2015, Locavore Farm has been rooted in a mission to steward the resources God provides for His glory and the betterment of His creation. Inspired by faith, our vision has always been to restore lives and land, utilizing the beauty and abundance of God’s provision as tools for healing and renewal.

In the early years, while focusing on building the farm and cultivating a space for community, we paused our nonprofit efforts to establish a foundation for growth. The challenges of the past decade strengthened our faith, shaped our vision, and confirmed our calling. In 2024, we officially launched The Locavore Farm Project as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit ministry. Beginning in 2025, this ministry will operate as a dedicated arm of our work, supported by the farm and our Dine on the Land experiences.

A Christ-Centered Mission

We believe The Locavore Farm Project will empower youth and nurture mental well-being through the healing power of God’s creation. The beauty and order of creation reflect God’s love and serve as a powerful reminder of His promise to restore brokenness.

Our mission is deeply personal. As adoptive and foster parents, we’ve witnessed firsthand how God’s grace transforms broken lives. Meaningful work, fresh air, and a Christ-centered community help young people discover the hope and healing found in Him.

The need is urgent: nearly 20% of U.S. youth face mental, emotional, or developmental challenges. But we hold fast to Christ’s promise: “Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28).

At Locavore Farm, we provide a space where youth and families can unplug from the world’s distractions, experience God’s peace in nature, and be embraced by a supportive, faith-filled community.

Building a Future of Restoration

Through initiatives like Locavore U, farm camps, and mentoring programs, The Locavore Farm Project offers opportunities for youth to grow in resilience and faith. As we look to 2025, we aim to expand our impact through:

  • Mobile Ministries: Bringing youth to the farm who might otherwise lack access to nature and farming.

  • Culinary Programming for Kids: Teaching the journey from seed to plate and wellness through food.

  • The Original Homestead: A fully functional space offering one-week to six-month stays for families in need, providing opportunities to grow closer together while working the land to nourish body and soul.

Join Us in Growing Hope

We invite you to partner with us in creating a place where youth and families find refuge, purpose, and restoration through God’s creation. Our Goal: Raise $50,000 by spring 2025 to support these critical initiatives. Funds raised will:

  • Construct an additional demonstration and classroom kitchen.

  • Expand our therapy livestock program.

  • Secure a 15-passenger van for safe, reliable transportation.

  • Complete essential earthwork and classroom construction on original homestead.

  • Purchase supplies for day camps and youth workshops.
